Who We Are

The Wes and Marybel Butler Wetlands is named for the granddaughter of Benjamin Flint, who purchased the property along what was to become Scholls Ferry Road in 1865 from the Hinton/Humphrey Land Claim. The farm remained in the Butler family for more than a century, until 2008, when, after having farmed the property for more than 10 years, the land was purchased by Jay and Kelly Hoffman, who have farmed in the Scholls area for more than 30 years.

Currently, in addition to the Wetlands and Flood Plains project, the Butler farm is home also to the Hoffman Farms Store, open for u-pick berries and seasonal produce from June - September. Visit www.hoffmanfarmsstore.com for more information.
